BRODIE CASTLE
Brodie Castle rests in extensive parkland. It was a joy to walk through this park and approach this magnificent castle residence. Brodie Castle brought that special feeling of excitement that true castle lovers get when they see the object of their quest. The castle was not open at the hour we arrived but we were able to take pictures of the front and rear.
The twelfth Brodie of Brodie built this castle in 1567. There have been additions made in the 17th and 19th centuries. It was interesting to learn that it has remained in Brodie hands for over four hundred years. The National Trust of Scotland now owns the castle, but parts of it are still inhabited by the Brodies.
It was definitely a pleasure to visit this castle when we were in the northeastern parts of Scotland.
